The Future-for the Courthouse and the Museum

The Old Red Museum is moving and growing. The Old Red Courthouse will once again be a seat of justice.

The building is no longer available for rentals of any kind.

The New Old Red Museum

The 1892 Dallas County Courthouse, lovingly known as Old Red, is scheduled to return to is original civic use. It will become the new home of the Texas Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. Once again, court proceedings and the work of overseeing justice will fill the rooms of Old Red.

The Old Red Museum of Dallas County History and Culture will continue our mission. The Dallas County Commissioners Court has contracted with our 501(c)3 nonprofit to continue to serve as a trusted and informative resource for the citizens of the county. Our exhibits will be redesigned and displayed in a neighboring Dallas County building, the Criminal Courts/Records Building Complex. In addition, the museum will create a significant online presence to bring information to classrooms and to the general public. This is an exciting new opportunity for Old Red.
