Do you have artifacts, documents, or historic photographs related to the history of Dallas County?

The Old Red Museum collects, preserves, and interprets its collections for research and exhibitions.

We are primarily interested in any potential donations from the time period of 1935 through 2000, particularly if related to local history.  Our exhibitions showcase objects related to everyday domestic life and local businesses, along with civic, cultural and educational institutions.

Due to space constraints, we cannot accept furniture, unless they are original furnishings of the Dallas County Courthouse (1892-1965.)

If you are interested in donating items to the museum collection, please contact the Collections and Exhibits Director who will evaluate potential donations based on interpretive potential, conservation needs, and storage concerns.

To discuss donations, contact Collections, at 214-757-1926 or info@oldred.org.  You may choose to email photographs of the objects.  Please do not drop off donations at the museum without setting up an appointment.

We greatly appreciate financial donations to assist in caring for the collection or purchasing items for exhibit areas.  To donate, click here and write “collections care” in the comments field.
